Crypto Exchange Binance Airdrops and Lists Native Asset of ‘Lending Super App’

The largest crypto exchange platform in the world by trading volume has rolled out trading support for the native asset of a low-cap decentralized finance (DeFi) project. On Monday, Binance listed the decentralized lending and borrowing platform Euler (EUL) via its HODLer Airdrops program, which rewards BNB holders with select tokens based on historical snapshots of their balances. Euler bills itself as the “DeFi super app” and operates as a decentralized exchange (DEX) in addition to offering lending services. EUL is an ERC-20 token that can be used for governance, rewards and in auctions to distribute protocol fees. Binance listed the asset for trading on Monday. The exchange attached a seed tag to EUL, a designation it applies to lower-liquidity projects that could potentially exhibit higher volatility compared to other listed assets. Binance requires users who want to trade assets with seed tags to pass quizzes every 90 days to ensure they’re aware...

Even amid subdued market conditions, the report noted that Bitget has emerged as a structurally important venue characterized by scale, consistency, and rising institutional participation. In the first half of 2025, institutions accounted for 80% of spot trading and 50% of derivatives volume on Bitget, contributing to a doubling of assets under management. CoinDesk att...

One DeFi Crypto Project Should Be Much Bigger in Valuation, According to Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan

Image
The chief investment officer of the crypto asset manager Bitwise says he believes one decentralized finance (DeFi) project on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain is currently undervalued. Matt Hougan says the market cap of Uniswap (UNI), which is approximately $6 billion, currently “feels too small.” “[Uniswap] would be the 400th largest financial services business in the world – roughly the same size as Storebrand, a savings and insurance business in Norway.” According to Hougan, regulatory uncertainty could be driving Uniswap’s current undervaluation, but that could change amid the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) recent initiatives to provide regulatory clarity for crypto assets. Per a Grayscale Research report released in late June, Uniswap is among the top-10 decentralized exchanges. Over six months ending on May 31st, Uniswap ranked third in terms of volumes. Uniswap generated $487 million in fees behind Solana-based decentralized exch...

SEC vs DeFi: The Clash of Code and Compliance

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) surged as an open, permissionless alternative to traditional finance, challenging the SEC—a long-standing U.S. financial regulator. At its heart, the clash is philosophical: centralized regulation versus decentralized autonomy through smart contracts and DAOs. The SEC’s Position: “Investor Protection Above All” The SEC has one job: protect investors, maintain fair markets, and enforce securities laws. Traditionally, this meant regulating companies that issue stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments. But in the past decade, as crypto went from niche to mainstream, the SEC expanded its scope. Under Chair Gary Gensler, the SEC has taken a firm stance that many digital assets—especially those involved in staking, yield farming, or offering returns—are unregistered securities . The reasoning? If investors are led to expect profits from the efforts of others, it likely falls under the Howey Test, the decades-old benchmark for identifying securities. So wha...

Solana Rival SUI Gearing Up for Major Breakout, According to Macro Guru Raoul Pal

Image
Former Goldman Sachs executive Raoul Pal believes that one Solana (SOL) competitor looks to be in a position for a massive breakout. Pal tells his 1.1 million followers on the social media platform X that the Tom DeMark (TD) Sequential Indicator is flashing bullish for the layer-1 platform Sui (SUI). Traders use the TD Sequential Indicator to predict potential trend reversals for tokens based on the closing prices of their previous nine or 13 bars or candles. He also suggests that SUI is on the verge of breaking out of a downward channel, a bearish pattern indicating that the asset is forming lower highs and lower lows. “Sui: knock, knocking, knocking on heaven’s door.” Source: Raoul Pal/X Other analysts are also suggesting SUI may be gearing up for an explosive move. Pseudonymous trader Cheds says if SUI can break through its immediate resistance, it may start printing significant rallies. “$2.50 overhead is a long trigger.” Me...

Transaction Finality and Speed on BNB Chain

Transaction Finality and Speed on BNB Chain BNB Chain is designed for high-speed transactions and rapid finality , making it one of the most efficient blockchain networks for decentralized applications (dApps) and financial transactions. Speed of Transactions BNB Chain uses the Proof-of-Staked-Authority (PoSA) consensus mechanism, enabling fast block times of approximately 3 seconds . This allows users to complete transactions quickly, making it ideal for DeFi, gaming, and NFT applications. Transaction Finality Finality refers to the point at which a transaction is irreversible . Unlike traditional networks that require multiple confirmations, BNB Chain achieves instant finality once a block is validated. This is because PoSA reduces the risk of chain reorganizations, ensuring transactions cannot be undone. Benefits of Fast Finality and Speed Low Latency – Transactions are confirmed within seconds, enhancing user experience. Security & Reliability – Instant finality reduces do...

Flash Loans in DeFi

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) has revolutionized traditional finance by introducing novel financial instruments, one of the most controversial being flash loans. Unlike conventional loans, flash loans require no collateral and allow users to borrow funds instantly—provided they repay the loan within a single blockchain transaction.  This innovation has unlocked new opportunities in arbitrage, liquidations, and refinancing. However, it has also introduced significant security risks, particularly in the form of flash loan attacks. In this article, we delve into the mechanics, applications, benefits, and risks of flash loans in DeFi. What Are Flash Loans? Flash loans are a unique financial primitive in DeFi, primarily facilitated by lending protocols such as Aave and dYdX. They leverage smart contracts to enable users to borrow funds without collateral, under the condition that the borrowed amount is repaid within the same transaction block. If the repayment condition is not met, the trans...
