Crypto Exchange Binance Airdrops and Lists Native Asset of ‘Lending Super App’

The largest crypto exchange platform in the world by trading volume has rolled out trading support for the native asset of a low-cap decentralized finance (DeFi) project. On Monday, Binance listed the decentralized lending and borrowing platform Euler (EUL) via its HODLer Airdrops program, which rewards BNB holders with select tokens based on historical snapshots of their balances. Euler bills itself as the “DeFi super app” and operates as a decentralized exchange (DEX) in addition to offering lending services. EUL is an ERC-20 token that can be used for governance, rewards and in auctions to distribute protocol fees. Binance listed the asset for trading on Monday. The exchange attached a seed tag to EUL, a designation it applies to lower-liquidity projects that could potentially exhibit higher volatility compared to other listed assets. Binance requires users who want to trade assets with seed tags to pass quizzes every 90 days to ensure they’re aware...

Binance Pays $283,000,000 Reimbursement To Customers, Denies Causing Bitcoin and Crypto Market Crash

Crypto exchange giant Binance says it’s paying about $283 million to customers affected by asset de-pegging issues during Friday’s market crash. The compensation covers losses from liquidated positions where users held USDE, BNSOL and WBETH as collateral. President Trump’s renewed tariff threat against China triggered the widespread market selloff, and Binance denies claims that it’s to blame for the major crypto downturn. “We are aware of claims that the de-pegging of certain Binance Earn products relating to USDE, BNSOL, and WBETH, caused the market crash, and therefore we wish to clarify that it was not the case. The extreme market downturn occurred before the de-pegging. Records show that during the market sell-off, prices fell to their lowest point between 2025-10-10 21:20 and 21:21 (UTC), while the severe de-pegging occurred after 21:36 (UTC) on the same day. Where the de-pegging impacted some users who had their positions li...

4 whistleblowers rewarded in Binance insider trading investigation

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced that it rewarded four whistleblowers who helped expose insider trading activities. According to the exchange, the four individuals received a total of $100,000 following an internal investigation triggered by a complaint about an employee engaging in front-running trades to secure improper profits, Binance stated on March 25. Binance noted that after verifying the claims, it equally distributed the $100,000 reward among the four whistleblowers who reported the issue through its official whistleblowing channel. Binance whistleblower lawsuit reveals 'chaotic' work environment

The European arm of crypto exchange Binance faces a lawsuit from a former executive, who claims she was wrongfully terminated after alerting managers to an alleged bribery. Amrita Srivastava worked for Binance’s Link platform until she was dismissed in May 2023 — just one month after raising concerns about bribery in the workplace.  According to Bloomberg, Srivastava recently claimed at an employment tribunal that one of her co-workers accepted money to fast-track a customer’s integration “under the guise of providing consultative services.” A “chaotic” work environment pressured staff to make up for a “revenue gap,” Srivastava said at the hearing, after it came to light that a quarter of Binance Link’s revenue came from an Iran-linked customer. In 2022, it was reported that Binance served crypto traders in Iran despite US sanctions and processed almost $8 billion in transactions. Binance deliberately skirted US sanctions to serve Iran users...

KAIA went from a peak of $0.150 on October 31st to its current price of $0.136, a drop of 9.3%. According to Kaia’s official website, the smart contract platform aims to provide enterprise-grade performance and reliability while lowering fees and providing high-speed transfers. “Kaia blockchain aims to achieve immediate finality for transactions, provide ...

One year on, the SEC can finally sue Binance — for the most part

A US judge ruled on Friday that 10 of 13 charges in a Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC ) lawsuit against Binance and its former CEO Changpeng Zhao can proceed while the remaining three can be wholly or partially dismissed.  The SEC sued Binance, Binance US, and Zhao on June 5 last year, accusing them of mishandling customer funds, wash-trading tokens, and using Binance US as a regulatory distraction.  Binance subsequently argued that the digital asset industry wasn’t given fair notice of the SEC’s impending enforcement efforts and that they would constitute a ‘power grab.’  However, Judge Amy Berman Jackson refused the request, pointing out that the SEC’s enforcement doesn’t reflect ‘enormous and transformative’ regulatory authority that’s enacted without congressional approval. She added that the crypto industry has been on notice since the SEC warned firms to comply with its federal SEC urities laws, finding “no violation of du...

Chinese investors with political ties allegedly behind mining hub in Texas

A new report from The New York Times sheds light on how Chinese investors , aided by Binance, acquired a Texas mining facility. A 23-year-old Chinese national and NYU student, Jerry Yu, appears to be the majority owner of a Texas-based crypto mining facility BitRush, which was backed by $6 million in Tether (USDT) by undisclosed Chinese investors , according to a recent report from The New York Times. In one of the lawsuits filed by Crypton Mining Solutions, which alleges non-payment for services in the Texas Panhandle town, BitRush’s investors — described as “not only Chinese citizens but citizens in highly political and influential business positions” — raised concerns about how exactly the funds were transferred from China to the U.S. The lawsuits, as reported by NYT, exposed a public money trail ending at Binance, which facilitated transactions with USDT through its offshore branch when the exchange’s operations were not adhering to American banking r...

Judge rules Binance ex-chief CZ must remain in US

A judge has decided that the ex-chief of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), must remain in the country while he awaits sentencing for federal crimes. As part of its plea deal, Crypto exchange Binance agreed to pay a $4.3 billion fine for skirting anti-money laundering checks; CZ agreed to step down as its CEO. Now, he faces up to 10 years behind bars. US District Judge Richard Jones ruled on Monday that while awaiting sentencing in February, CZ cannot leave the country. Though he won’t spend his time in prison, he won’t be allowed to fly back home to Dubai. CZ’s lawyers filed a motion on Thursday, arguing that he willingly showed up in court once and will therefore do it again. However, prosecutors argued that CZ poses a significant flight risk if allowed to leave since the majority of his wealth is outside of the country and the UAE has no extradition deal with the US . What’s more, the ex- Binance chief enjoys special stat US in the UAE after obtaining ...

JPMorgan sees Binance settlement as positive development for crypto industry

JPMorgan analysts believe that Binance’s $4.3 billion settlement stabilizes the crypto market and mitigates systemic risk. JPMorgan (JPM) has hailed Binance’s recent settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) as a ‘positive step’ for the crypto sector. Analysts at the firm believe it will be a beneficial step for both Binance and the wider crypto currency market, as revealed to the Block.  The resolution of these legal issues is seen as particularly advantageous for Binance’s operations and its BNB Smart Chain business.
